It was independence day, but that didn't mean Khorne was out celebrating. He had something entirely different planned. It had come to his attention that the United States Patent Office in Virginia just might have something he wanted. There was over five thousand patents the US had denied to be developed because the nation or world was not ready for the technology. Khorne wanted all of them.
The giant green warrior from space made no effort to hide himself in entering the building, he simply walked. If that was a locked door in his way he pushed it down. If he spotted a security camera, he smashed it. He wasn't overtly concerned, he didn't expect anything on the mudball world could stop him. He was Khorne.

The Stark mansion had been full of extended family members, business partners and several members of the Avengers, and the JLA. While standing in line for the caterers BBQ Vincent Howard Stark got an alert- the US Patent Office was being broken into- and if there was one family with a lot to be worried about the patent office being broken into it was the Stark family- and possibly the Wayne's but they didn't count as far as the Stark's were concerned.
It only took a moment for Vincent to change into the IronMan armor and dart down to PA. And in that next moment she slammed down into the parking lot- the door was torn off the hinges, so getting in wasn't a problem in fact even finding the source of the break in wasn't a problem.
readying a charge of her pulsar Vincent spoke- the male voice of the IronMan suit doing the talking for her. "Looking for something, friend?" She said to the hulking green man standing in one of the hall ways.

Steelworks was abuzz today... He was at his Aunt Sharon's with his parents, just about to grab his plate of collard greens and a hot mettwurst, when his watch came on. His great-Uncle John was on the other side.
--"We got an issue young 'un."--
JJ, as he was often called by the family, muttered, "I'll say we do... You know I was about to eat, right Unk?"
--"Yup, and I'm sorry. I'll tell your moms to save you a plate for later, with everything on it. Deal?"--
JJ looked over at his mom, it seemed he had already caught her attention and that she was aware of what was going on; she nodded. There was his cue, and like a champ, he rose to the call. He set his plate down and his mom swiftly picked it up where he left off. On his way out he caught sight of his dad, Virgil, grilling up some chicken using a grill that he had patented which utilized static electricity. In this case, instead of it being plugged in, there was a pack attached to it that was being powered by his father.
Pressing a button on his watch, JJ watched as the kinetic hammer that was passed from one Steel to the next approached. Grabbing hold of the handle he was lifted into the air. His uncle's voice came through his watch again, --"I've pre-programmed the K-Hammer to take you to the location. It's the US Patent Offices. Someone-- or someTHING has broken in."--
"You know this is my first time doing this sort of thing, right Unk?" --"Well, this ain't my first rodeo, nephew, trust me. Gear up."-- And with that John Henry Irons-Hawkins' skin became coated with a metallic sheen, as he became every bit of the code name he had taken on, and upon landing he stripped out of his jean shorts and short sleeved gray tee revealing his heroic costume. His thick belt buckle gleaming in the hot summer sun, he entered the building feeling completely unprepared, but took comfort in having his K-Hammer at the ready.

Khorne's peace and quiet were disturbed when a pair of heroes arrived, one a young woman and the other and individual in a suit of armour. There was someone else too, he could hear them but they hadn't gotten as far into the building as he was. He was not concerned just yet. "This place has fancy security guards." he started before turning to face them fully.
One powerful hand picked up a cabinet and without any further warning he threw it to towards the pair that had arrived. He wasn't expecting the cabinet to do any real damage to the one in armour, but he had thrown it hard enough to do some damage. If they wanted to stop him from getting what he came for they'd have to hit hard.

Vincent was about to blast the filing cabinet to dust when she realized she wasn't sure what was inside of it. Quickly she disarmed her repulser and caught the cabinet, both edges of it's steel locked frame bowed inward against her arms at the force it had been thrown at.
"Well when you put as much stock into a place like this as I have, you tend to jump when the alarm sounds." Ironman called back to the green man. Turning towards Flameshadow Ironman nodded and then spoke lowly. "Circle around behind him and see if you can cut him off, I'm going to make a head on attack."
Then Ironman stepped forward, boot jets activated and the red armored figure was speeding towards Khorne like a red and gold torpedo.

She looked towards Iron man and nodded little bit " Right ....." She then goes around towards the green man's side to do order to follow orders. She and then goes to get into a stance she then readied her flames which she twirled her hands into a circle to get ready to counter anything. She was pretty good at following orders of her people higher then her. She then swings her arms around make flames to try to block Khorne

Pulling the handle on the K-Hammer, JJ prepared for a more up close approach along with the red and gold armored hero. JJ launched himself into a full on dash towards the emerald giant before the three heroes and once he was somewhat close, he let the hammer swing towards his mark, much like a batter at a baseball game. He knew the Hammer would inflict much more damage as it picked up momentum through his swing.
"BE STILL!!!" He yelled...

Khorne watched through unimpressed eyes as a ring of fire from one of the female's circled around him. As it would happen the green giant was rather good with heat. The one in red and gold clad armour came at him next, speeding like a bullet. Her charge was intercepted however by a large green hand that grabbed her by the head and applied what most would consider a rather worrying degree of crushing force. The man came at him then, swinging his hammer which caught Khorne across the jaw. His head lashed around as the strike carried him and he fell back a step.
A moment later he grabbed his footing and swung the armoured Avenger at the one with the hammer. If he would hammer Khorne perhaps Khorne could use this person to club him into the ground.

Post by Madeline Wayne on Jul 31, 2012 21:40:06 GMT 1
This. This was why Madeline had been against vying for that contract concerning the Capitol Building and was even more against the one that was supposedly helping with the Library of Congress. On Independence Day, just as it had been about fifteen to seventeen years ago, the President and some of the members of the staff would want to thank you the head of the company in person. Of course, they couldn’t leave Washington DC, because that would just be too much stress on their July 4th plans. So, what did they do? They would send a private jet for the head of the company so that he or she could fly to Washington DC and impede his or her own July 4th plans. Sounded like a bargain, right? Unfortunately, Madeline couldn’t manage to get a member of the Board or even Janice to take care of this for her, so she was left to her own devices.
Since there wasn’t anyone in the Wayne Manor—and, yes, that meant that Bruce and her mother and all of the others were nowhere to be found—she was going to be spending her Independence Day attending parties for about five to ten minutes, cleaning up after the criminals in Gotham or spending quality time with Philip. Either way, Maddie would have preferred a tropical beach or island being thrown into the mix somewhere. And, since the whole Philip thing probably was going to fall through with her luck, Madeline pretty much was counting on taking up the Bat guise like always and taking out some of her holiday misfortunes on the criminals running rampant around the city. One would think that they would be at home with families and engaging in a few festivities here and there. "Yes. Of course. Perhaps Wayne Enterprises will be able to set something up in Gotham for a speech or two. … I know the people will be looking forward to it. … … Ha, you shouldn’t be so worried about reelection. The people will go with whatever the people want. … Yes, it seems like they’d like to keep you around." Curtsying to the President of the United States one last time, Madeline made a bee line for the door. She absolutely hated politicians even more than she hated old, senile businessmen, which said something. After a couple nods to the Secret Service Agents lined throughout the halls and being escorted by the President’s children and husband—yes, the president was a woman this time around—back to the entrance, Madeline was free to go. The company car was waiting outside for her in the same condition that she had left it in. Man, Washington DC is way more laid back that Gotham… There’s not even a scratch. AND I parked this on the street. Sliding into her new Alpina B7, Madeline hit the button to turn on the car and took off as quickly as she could in a thirty-five mile per hour zone, which wasn’t that much really. The car cruised along the streets of Washington DC with much less traffic than she had encountered before. She needed to get back to the airport in time for the Wayne Enterprises aircrew to load the car onto the larger “company” plane and get it back home safe and sound. Plus, she needed to get back home in time for this crew to also spend their Fourth of July with respective family members. Paying them overtime wasn’t a big deal, but paying them at the rate that she was paying to handle everything carefully and keep things moving hurt just thinking about it. A thousand dollars an hour was nothing to turn one’s nose up at. Especially when you were working, what, eight hours that day? The heiress snapped from her internal rant about the working hours and off-the-clock wages when a HUD that channeled Gotham and JLA updates to her car popped up the corner. She casually reached for it and selected it on her windshield. A larger thing display took up the entire glass and showed Madeline a range of building schematics to villain database analysis and so on. The auto-pilot took control and the Bat glanced over the information as the speakers started to debrief her on the situation. At about 1100 hours this morning an unidentified, humanoid creature had entered a United States Government facility in Virginia. That facility was a patent office and the creature appeared to be of high enough intelligence to have a specific goal. The classified patents. "Even the tech guys from Wayne Enterprises would love to get access to a place like that."[/color] Muttering under her breath and acknowledging the visuals that JLA satellites picked up, this thing looked like it could have been a descendent of, what was that guy called? The one that got angry all the time. Prompting the computer system, Madeline was given her answer within a few seconds. The Hulk. If this humanoid was indeed like the Hulk, Maddie could only pray that the Justice League of Avengers hadn’t gone in there guns blazing or had any of the “hotter” heads within their midst. Otherwise, this was going to be one hell of an Independence Day kick off… and possibly beating. Letting out a small sigh, Madeline had the HUD display disappear and entered in coordinates for her car to make it back to the airport. She swore if it didn’t make it there in one piece, she’d have to have a chat with Janice. Nothing violent, just letting her know that she wasn’t as much of a genius as she professed to be. As the computer dialed in the coordinates and the car came to rest at a stoplight, Madeline located her comm-link and informed whoever was at the Tower that she was ready to be brought to the Virginia location. Within a blink of an eye, the billion dollar princess vanished from plain sight. Landing on the rooftop of the Patent Office, Madeline quickly located a duct vent, thanks to the schematics she had received, and immediately came out in an office. Just from looking at the cleanliness of the desk and the “back up complete” on the computer screen, the building had already been evacuated and some team of Special Forces was bound to show up any moment. Yes, besides the JLA. The trust between them and the US Government had still been pretty shaky since the whole Octavius-Serbia thing. The Bat took very little time taking in what was in the room and noted where she was. This floor of the building was the wrong one. She needed to get downstairs and she needed to do it without destroying (much of) anything. She exited the office and headed for the elevator. The doors were closed, but as long as the actual car was at a higher level than the one she was on, getting to the bottom floor and basement area wouldn’t proven to be much of a problem. Prying the doors open was a bit of a task, but she managed to get them to stay open long enough to slide into the elevator shaft, attach one of her grapple gun cables and descend into the darkness. Problem now was getting to the basement area. There was another steel door that restricted the elevator from going any further than the first floor. And since she had no code to enter and, well, she wasn’t even in the elevator, there was her issue. Oh, and someone had called the elevator on the first floor, so the cables were starting to move and Batgirl could see the “moving room” coming towards her. Keep moving Maddie. Grabbing a hold of a batarang, Batgirl hurled the projectile towards the metal opening. She was sure that it would at least be reinforced steel, but the explosive on the batarang should be enough to at least blow a hole large enough to fit through. There were some perks to being not as muscular as other heroes. The Mistress of Darkness pulled herself to the side as some debris flew up from the barrier and a reasonably sized hole was formed. It wasn’t enough though. Another charged batarang was flung down at the metal and this time made it large enough for someone like her father to fit through as well. With that, the grapple line was disconnected and the Bat descended into the basement area, feet first, and landed with her knees slightly bent. Now the show was to really begin. From the sound alone, the JLA was easily within at least a hundred yards distance. Batgirl ran down a corridor only to find herself at an intersection. She closed her eyes, listening for a moment, and honed in on the sounds. To her left. Then to her left again and then to her right. There they were. The Justice League… of Avengers and some identified person. Judging from the attire, however, he was a member of the Steel legacy. Turning her attention to the green man standing before the heroes and attempting to fight IronMan off, Batgirl took two batarangs from her belt, meant to act as a relatively high powered taser when used together, and threw them at the giant. One aiming for his lower leg and the other at his chest.

Vincent slammed into the boy with the hammer at an ungodly speed. "Damn." She swore the metallic voice ringing out through the clang of steel filing cabinets. "Listen kid, these are important documents, so we're trying not hurt anything here." The Iron Avenger said point a long metal finger at the kid with the hammer.
Why didn't criminals ever strike some place that didn't really make any difference to the public, like the Mint, or the Smithsonian? No, it was always some place that made the JLA's heavy hitters hold back. Especially in a place like this where Vincent Stark held so much stock in things being kept safe.
With that Iron Man turned back around looking at the giant green monster. It looked like some one had joined them it looked to be Batgirl. Throwing those batarangs, really? Well, Iron Man might as well help out, using her repulsar jets she maneuvered around towards Batgirl. "I think we should take this outside. I'm not really interested in any of the patents here being burned or destroyed."
