Appearance:
Civilian Attire: Pete doesn't have a lot of money so he needs to keep his clothing choices simple and inexpensive. He can often be seen wearing things like athletic shorts and t-shirts. When he needs to look nice in cool weather he'll usually put on a pair of cargo shorts and a nice shirt. When it's cold Pete wears jeans, baggy sweat pants, sweaters and sweatshirts. He is almost always seen wearing a hat. Pete also had glasses but he rarely wears them.
Personality: It's amazing how Pete turned out the way he did concidering his circumstances. Pete is courteous, kind and down to earth. His bravery and leadership skills make him an excellent hero. Pete can be loud and obnoxious and he has almost no manners. The boy loves to party and have a good time but he's also kind of a workaholic when it comes to being a superhero. He always seems to be locked up in his room or out patrolling for crime. That is one of his main faults, he battles crime so excessively that it consumes his life.
If you asked Pete who he hates most he'd tell you he doesn't really hate anybody but that's not true. He can't stand criminals and that's why he works so hard fighting them. Pete also has a strong dislike of the bat family because they knew he existed and who his dad was but none of them felt obligated to help him or his mother. Pete has a very apathetic attitude towards his stepdad and half sister. His stepdads a very hateful man but his mom loves him so Pete puts up with him. Pete loves his half sister but deep down he is jealous how much more his mother loves her than him. However, Pete does his best to surpress these kinds of thoughts and emotions, but his teeth start to grit with the mere mention of Jason Todd. Pete never talks about his dad because he hates him so much it hurts. However, Pete still goes out everyday and wears his father's namesake, the red hood. Why would Pete wear that? Some might think of it as a constant reminder of the thing he hates the most but Pete thinks of it differently. By using the hood for good instead of evil and by using his dad's own weapon against him is Pete's middle finger to Jason.

The Hero
Codename: Red Hood
Hero Attire: As Red Hood, Pete's most iconic feature is his helmet, the red hood his father wore. Underneath the hood Pete wears a white domino mask in case he ever is unmasked. Pete then wears a snow white bulletproof jacket that he leaves half zipped up. Underneath this is a thin grey kevlar shirt. The jacket is tucked into a pair of baggy grey pants that are in turn tucked into a pair of mettalic red boots. He also has a red utility belt that contains things to help him fight crime. Finally, Pete's sleeves are tucked into the red shock gauntlets.
Powers: Red Hood is a normal human being with no super powers.
Skills:
Strategist - When Pete was a kid the only thing he had to entertain himself with was a chess set. Madison was very good and showed Pete how to play. He would spend hours on end coming up with different strategies and ways to win, and this was all at a young age. By the time Pete was twelve he was well versed in the works of Sun Tzu. His level head helps him quickly implemant his plans in combat.
Skilled Detective - After becoming a crime fighter Pete quickly picked up on being a detective. He's not quite on the level of Batman or Robin but he's a creative thinker so he's pretty good at it. He enjoys it to, cracking codes and solving riddles and stuff like that have always been fun for Pete. He's often found in the titans forensics lab. Growing up Pete liked watching tv and some of his favorite programs were the ones about detectives and watching these kind of showed him the ropes despite how simplified they made detective work seem. Another piece of help he had was from his stepdad, a police officer and former private investagator. When Pete was still new to all this he asked Gary for help and it was one of the few times they ever really connected and he showed Pete a lot about solving crime.
State Champion Wrestler - To keep her nerdy son from getting out of shape, Madison Todd started sending Pete to wrestling camps at the rec center near their house over the summer. At first he didn't like it but as he got older Pete learned to love wrestling and he had gotten really good at it. Last year he was on the varsity wrestling squad for his high school during his freshman year. He took a state title. This talent has saved him more than once when fighting bad guys.
Hacker - This is a relatively new skill picked up by Pete because he only recently got a computer when he moved into Titans Tower. He started to learn about coding and how to change it to make computers do what you want. Pete soon learned the art of hacking and it's proven to be helpful when taking down crime.
Special Equipment:
The Hood - The Hood was an heirloom from his father. As well as offering protection from bullets and other things that might hurt his noggin, the hood allows Pete to access his computer on the go. Because of this he can look at maps, important files and other things that might be important to solving a case or completing a mission. It offers night and thermal vision. The hood can also access the music library on his computer so it can act as an mp3, Something Pete rather enjoys.
Grappling Gun - Because Red Hood is just a normal person he has a hard time clearing tall buildings in a single bound. Luckily this little beauty can propel him to the top of any structure with the greatest of ease.
Utility Belt - Pete's utility belt is red in color and appears to be made out of the same chrome material his helmet and boots are made out of. Inside the many pouches are detective tools and smoke and flash bombs. It also has a holster for his grappling gun, a handheld device that he uses to hack computers, a communicator and his personal cell phone.
Shock Gauntlets - These gauntlets can use electricity to give a bad guy a powerful shock after Pete gets a hold of them or they can electrify a punch. He actually got them off of the first villain he defeated, a fledgling thief who went by "Toxic Shock". After Pete had knocked him out he took the gauntlets for "safe keeping" and instead started using them himself.
Extendable Police Baton - This blunt weapon is stored in Hood's utility belt. It's dark red in color, slightly darker than the rest of the red paraphonalia Red Hood wears. It's compartment is spring loaded so Pete can get to it easily. Pete is fairly skilled with using it and prefers it over his knife.
Combat Knife - Stored in the back of his belt, this weapon is rarely ever used. He mainly just uses it to intimidate criminals. The handle is red but the blade itself is a dark grey.
Weaknesses:
He's no Jackie Chan: - Most superheroes without powers have some kind of martial arts training to help them fight but Pete doesn't. His wrestling prowess and sloppy street fighting can only help him so much because when it comes down to it Pete isn't a very good fighter.
Impulsive: - When he's in combat Pete can get angry, and when he gets angry, he gets stupid. He makes mistakes. When emotions run high Pete can be reckless and this has gotten him into trouble on more than one occasion.
Bang! *Thud* - Being a normal human being you could theoretically kill Pete pretty easily. One good shot and he'd be dead as dirt.
Most Heroic Achievements: Pete jumped in front of a bullet from a sniper to save Gotham's mayor. He survived because of his jacket but he was badly wounded and instead of asking for help he went on and persued the sniper. This all took place during a live broadcast of the mayor's speech. This was the act that caused the Young Titans to take an interest in Pete. After watching him for a few more weeks they decided to ask him to join.
History: Jason Todd was a lot of things; a former Robin, a criminal mastermind, a figurative zombie and a killer. Most people don't know that he's also a father and an ex-husband. About eighteen years ago Jason was walking in the rain on his way home. The weather was getting bad so a friendly driver stopped her car and offered him a ride. Her name was Madison and Jason accepted her offer. After getting to know eachother a little better Jason was invited back to her apartment. One thing led to another and Jason woke up the next morning feeling happier than he'd felt in a long time. At first Jason had planned on just leaving the next morning but he liked this girl. Maybe it's because she liked him for who he was, last night Jason had told her who he was and she didn't even mind. And emotion was sweeping over him that he didn't recognize. It was love.
Madison and Jason were married a year later and Jason put the Red Hood alias to rest. The night that they had met Jason had gotten Madison pregnant so she gave birth shortly after they were married. Jason now had a son, something he would never have thought would happen. He didn't like it. Somehow he didn't feel like he could be a father, Jason was worried he would disapoint Pete like Bruce had disapointed him. Things didn't get better when Madison fell ill. Jason's old rage was returning and he became the Red Hood again. Madison and him fought so much that one night Jason just left. Nobody has seen him since.
Now what about Pete? Well Pete grew up. His childhood was less then to be desired. With his mother bed ridden she needed to find a man to support them. She met a guy named Gary, he was a police officer with a temper problem. Gary and Pete never really got along but they made things work because they both loved Madison. The two soon got married and had a baby girl named Anna after Madison finally got better.
Pete knew full well who his father was and had always hated him. Madison had never tried to hide from Pete who Jason was. She even gave him the first helmet his father wore as The Red Hood, something she said he wanted him to have. Pete tucked the hood somewhere in his closet because he didn't like looking at it. Because Jason was a member of the Bat Family Pete always assumed Batman or Nightwing would swoop in one day and take him and his mother away from all of this. He knew that they knew that Jason had a son so that gave him hope. Nobody ever came to save him, so Pete had to save himself.
By now Pete was a teenager and it was to late for Madison to give him the childhood he never had. Pete enjoyed high school, he was smart and was doing well in advanced classes and he was acceling on the wrestling team, something that made Gary happy. Pete had a lot of friends and could be concidered popular but he prefered to be alone. However, these days he never really felt welcome in his own home. Mom was busy with Anna and Gary really didn't want anything to do with him. To get away from it all he started going out with Jason's helmet and fighting crime. When his mom found out the two got in a big fight over it but Pete still continued his work as the Red Hood. He started doing this when he was fifteen so he's been at it for about two years now. Pete was also recently invited to join the Young Titans and now lives in San Francisco, far away from Gotham and his past. He's been in San Fran for a few months and really enjoys it there.

The Red Hood, scourge of the underworld, sat on the front hood of an old beat up 1970 chevy nova stuffing his face with cheetos. The car was parked in a quiet alleyway that was littered with bleeding and bruised unconcious bodies. Pete had his red hood off so he could eat while giving one of the goons time to regain consciousness but his identity was still hidden by a white domino mask. Pete tossed the bag of snackfood aside and put his hood back on when he saw one of the thugs starting to stir.
Pete had knocked this guy out by hitting him with a garbage can so he was laying sprawled out in a pile of the cans filling. Pete rubbed his hands together to remove any extra cheese dust and then drew his knife from the back of his utility belt. The Red Hood knelt down next to the man and held up the knife so that he could see it. The man's eyes went wide as soon as he saw the shiny metal blade. "You feel like talking now?" Pete asked in a matter of factly tone, the hood gave his voice a slightly filtered sound.
"Alright, alright! We got a shipment coming in at the docks in a half an hour or so!" The man screamed. Pete put his knife away, he didn't like having to use a knife but sometimes it had it's advantages, like scaring the bejezus out of criminals. Pete was still kneeling and he put his hands on his knees. "A shipment of what? Speed? Venom?" The Red Hood inquired. The man closed his eyes and his words were shaky. "I don't know, man. They don't tell us stuff like that. All I know is the guy we're moving the cargo for is real mysterious."
Pete let out a sigh as he unbent his legs and stood back up. "Welp! I'm going to kick you in the face and steal your car, the cops will be here in about five minutes to come pick you up. I hope you boys like prison food... and penis!" Pete said. Before the man could calculate what was happening Pete delivered a swift kick to the thugs face and he was out like a light. Red Hood mosied on over to the car, he stepped into the drivers seat and turned the key. The glow of the front lights illuminated the alley just as Pete peeled out on his way to the docks.
Pete had heard some chatter about a deal going down at the docks but he needed some more information on it. After those thugs back in the alley decided they didn't want to talk, Pete had no choice but to make them. He ended up overdoing it though and knocking them all out. Pete felt like an idiot losing himself to his hate like that. That just wasn't him, that would be something his dad would have done.
Pete dodged traffic in the old chevy he had "borrowed" as he maneuvered his way through the streets of Gotham on his way to the docks. It was early morning so everyone was on their way to work and in a way, so was Pete. As he got closer to the docks he slammed his foot down on the accelerator, a car barreling towards them at 75 mph would no doubt scare any thugs he'd come across. Plus it would surprise the heck out of them, giving him an advantage.
As he first got a glimpse of the harbor before he pulled into the bay he noticed something very strange. One of the wooden docks was floating away. You didn't need to be the worlds greatest detective to know that something wasn't right. As Pete pulled into the docks at roaring speeds he saw Killer Croc playing with his victims that were stranded out on the dock. The Red Hood and Casey Jones have had run ins before so they were kind of familiar with eachother.
It was a reckless choice but Pete came up with a quick plan. He revved the engienes, honked the novelty horn and speeded towards the waters. "Catch!!" The Red Hood yelled out the window at Killer Croc before bailing out of the car, doing a barrel roll to land himself back in the squatting position on the concrete next to the water. The car itself had become a missile that was coming straight for Casey. For the first time Red Hood noticed that he wasn't the only one here.
Batgirl and Nightfire. Pete frowned under his hood. It was wierd finally seeing them in person. Pete and Richard were on the same team but had never met before. The family these two belonged to hurt Pete in ways they could never understand and they probably didn't even know he existed. Sure, they had probably heard of the Red Hood coming back on the scene. Hell, he was on tv when he took a bullet for the mayor and was now a member of the Young Titans, of course they've heard of the hood. However he sorely doubted they had ever heard of Pete Todd.
He rose to his feet as the car hit his target and looked at Richard and then Maddie. "Hey." was all Pete could muster.
