Things around the tower had been rough the past few months. Sam paced the main commons of the team's headquarters that was stationed here in the Golden City of San Francisco. He had called the meeting of the current roster of Titans... at least the ones he could reach. There were a few matters at hand that needed to be addressed. He didn't know how the rest of the team felt, but Sam believed they couldn't let them go unaccounted for much longer.
The issues Sam felt needed to be addressed were the issues of missions and team communication. There were others he was sure, but those were what were most important to him. The team's leader Kyle had been MIA for a time now so he felt the team needed to either appoint a new one or reinforce their communication levels. He had heard a supposed rumor that the JLA was even thinking about sending a couple members to reside with the team here in San Fran at the Tower, but he wasn't about to put money on that being true. He dragged a hand across the back of a couch and finally sat in his egg chair.
Spinning in his chair he swung around to the side of the tower facing the city. Then he looked at his reflection, the Titans "T" was emblazoned upon his shirt and he pulled it away from his chest feeling the roughness of the screen printing process, momentarily thinking of how he first met most of this group during their battle with Nox. Hard to believe so many years have passed, he thought. They had become like family to him and it was this very family he sought to help keep alive....

Brandi was getting ready to gear up to go somewhere but hear there is some kind of team meeting. She first decided to where Sam was. She walked inside of the meeting room and sits down at one of the chairs and then looked towards him. She knows their leader has not been around for quite sometime. She then looked towards Sam and then says "I am here Sam......" She has been doing several things around the city lately she has been on her patrols. She had Kamiko sitting there on her shoulder. Kamiko looked towards Sam and tints her head even if years have pass she still questions Brandi's choice of dating Sam and gives her options on it all time.

Anreal had gotten the memo that the Titans were having a team meeting in the commons a few hours earlier. It always made her stomach tie up in knots when they had an impromptu meeting, it made her feel as if they were all doing something wrong- especially if the JLA showed up to the tower for said meeting.
As of now the Atlantean princess was wearing a pair of short shorts and and a lacy tank top with a long necklace, her hair was wet considering she'd come from the ocean and only dried off and dressed in normal clothing a few moments earlier. She padded gently into the commons in bare feet and nodded to both Brandi and Sam as she entered. "Hey Brandi, Hey Sam. What's up?" THe teenaged heroine said slipping onto one of the bar stools that stood between the kitchen and the common living space.

The first couple of Titans to approach the room were Brandi then Anreal. Brandi, he had figured, would be the first to respond and be at the meeting. She and Sam had grown rather close over the past couple months and it was evident to the others that something more was going on between the pair, of which Kamiko often questioned. He had overheard them talking about it a couple times, yet he never let on to the two that he knew. Brandi was capable of making her own choices. True, she may have her klutzy moments, but Sam and her android Kamiko helped keep her in line. They weren't the only two though to look after Brandi, the rest of the team stepped in every so often too, much like a family, as he had found himself thinking earlier.
Anreal, the current sole heir to the Atlantean king Namor: The Sub-Mariner's throne, entered afterwards. She was dripping from what one could rightly assume had been a lengthy swim to the shore, then her room, because she still smelled of the ocean. He straightened just a bit in his seat, it wasn't too often that he saw, teamed, or worked with her so Sam always tried to treat her as royalty still; even if she was younger than him.
The ladies addressed him and he responded to them in kind, "Hello ladies. Hi Kamiko... Not too much Anreal, the T-Car should be done soon. Brandi and I are installing the last few modifications. How are you?" Pete had talked to him a few times about the princess, but wasn't sure how Pete was doing in that arena. Honestly, Pete was going to need some help, he was too much... well Pete. Maybe Anneliese could help him with a few etiquette lessons..., Sam thought.

Anneliese entered the meeting room yawning, dressed in a dark purple bikini with a matching sheer sarong tied around her narrow hips like a mini skirt, bare feet barely making a sound on the floor, sunglasses perched on top of her expertly styled wavy hair.
She'd been sunbathing when she'd heard about the meeting and saw no point in changing. She graced her fellow Titans with her classic 'Anneliese Grayson Model Smile' that donned hundreds of billboards all across the world and perched herself on the edge of one of the consoles, glancing at the door in perfect timing to see Richard, immaculate as usual in jeans and a polo shirt, sunglasses in place, enter with his usual cocky stride, instantly making his way to her side, leaning against the console she was sitting on, his arm propped behind her.
"So...what exactly is this impromptu little pow-wow about?" Anneliese asked curiously, leaning back against her brothers arm, one eyebrow raised.

Pete's dark room was illuminated by the crack of light coming from his bathroom. "Toxic" by Brittany Spears was blaring as he stepped out of the shower. Pete wrapped a towel around his waste and then smacked his radio, the station changed to something a little more suitable to his tastes. Pete wandered out into the dark depths of his room. The place wasn't a complete mess, but it was rather unorganized. There were piles of clothes scattered about and comic books and magazines were lying opened on the floor. Pete flopped on his bed and stared at the ceiling for a moment before rolling onto the ground into a pile of clean laundry.
When he stood back up Pete had on a clean pair of dark jeans. He wandered back into the bathroom but quickly came back out swishing around the Listerine that was now in his mouth. He sat on the edge of his bed so he could put on some socks and a pair of Nikes. Pete tilted his chin upwards and scratched his neck as he glanced into his open closet. Quickly deciding on a plain white t-shirt, Pete made his way for the door. On his way out he grabbed his "World's Greatest Trucker" hat and placed it backwards on his head.
Halfway down the hall Pete remembered two things: One, he was still swishing around the mouthwash and two, he forgot to feed the fish. After sprinting back to his room to take care of those two necessities, he was all set for the big meeting. Pete strode lazily into the front room where the team was already waiting. "Hey guys, sorry I'm late... but you know it takes time to look this beautiful." Pete said with a yawn. He didn't get much sleep last night due to his superhero antics and he was actually just waking up.
Pete flicked Richard on the ear as he passed him by on his way to the couch. He flopped himself down on the cushions and sprawled himself out. Pete grabbed a pillow and hugged it to his chest out of force of habit. He nodded at Annie. "What she said." Pete agreed.

As Annie, Richard, and Pete arrived, Sam was already adding them in to the count. There are still a few missing though, he thought, oh well, no time like the present... He chuckled to himself as he witnessed Richard's reaction to Pete flicking his ear. Then Sam got up from his chair and made his way to the ottoman in the middle of the room. He addressed his teammates, his family, "Ladies and gentlemen...", he began, "I know that we all have kind of gone off and are having our own little adventures, spending time with family, making new connections, or otherwise preoccupied with the Tower. However, I think that we should consider a couple things, some of us haven't had contact with one another outside of interactions here. What can we as a team do to change this? Any ideas?"

Brandi looked towards Sam then smiled little bit towards Sam. then responds to his greeting" hello Sam........" Kamiko then responds to Sam with a nod towards him as she responds to him " hello Shockback doing welling .what is " Brandi then turned her head towards Anreal then smiled knowing the girl who spent time with her and Sam during the Christmas holidays " hello Anreal nothing really expect what Sam said " When everyone else came in she then nodded. She then got ready to listen to what was about to be said. She didn't have anything to add at moment that would help them.

When Annie and Richard came in Anreal smiled and waved, then Pete came in and Anreal blushed a bit. The Red Hood had recently asked Anreal out on her first date and she was very excited about it. But now wasn't the time for that.
Sam had called the meeting for a reason and it was now time to listen and put forth ideas. "I suppose... and I know it sounds silly, but," Anreal started. "What if we were to use a buddy system. No more patrolling alone, I mean it's not really safe per say any how for us to go out alone to fight, but it also builds the team up."
The little Atlantean knew that every one on the team had different strengths and weakness, it was really a matter of pairing the team up so that they were all playing to one another's strengths.

Richard glared from behind his glasses at Pete when he flicked his forehead, and gave the younger male a rather crude hand gesture. "Get lost brat." He drawled, before both his and his sisters attention were drawn to Sam, listening to what he hand to say with vague interest.
At Anreal's suggestion, Anneliese nodded."I agree with the buddy system." Anneliese raised her hand with a smirk. "I mean...me and Richard already utilise it. We rarely go out on patrols without each other. Fighting as a well oiled partnership works better than fighting alone most of the time. With us, Richard has the speed and weapons, I have the strength and flight. We balance each other out." Here she leaned backward, resting against Richard's arm. "What about Anreal and Pete, and Brandi and Sam? We could try the partnerships out, train together, see how it all works, and if needs be you guys could switch up?" Of course, her and Richard wouldn't need to switch up. They'd been training and fighting together their whole life. When one made a move, the other would understand the point of it without hesitation. And if anyone tried to make them split...well, heads would roll.

Pete mulled over the duo idea. Hood was never really a team player. Sure, being a member of the Titans required a certain amount of group effort and Pete was fine with that from time to time, but if it was a constant thing Pete was worried it might cramp his style. However, when Annie suggested he be paired with Anreal, the idea suddenly didn't seem so bad.
"I've got no problems with that." Pete said, giving Anreal a grin.
However the more he thought about it Pete realized he'd probably rather be with someone else. Crimefighting with Pete often got... ugly. Lots of broken bones and open wounds. He didn't want a girl he was in to always having to be exposed to that darker side of him. But as long as he wasn't with Dickie he'd get by.
"Now, I'd like to address the elephant in the room. Kyle isn't around anymore and we need a new leader. Somebody has got to yell "Titans Go"." Pete spoke. As he was sprawled out on the couch, Pete put his hands on the pillow on his chest and began to twiddle his thumbs. "Now despite being the obvious choice, I'm going to have to respectfully decline." Pete said sarcastically.
"Now if I was anyone else but me, I would say Richard would be the best suited leader. But I am me, so fuck that. I vote Sam." Pete said with a chuckle.

Sam paused, taking in the various options and the idea of incorporating a buddy system for the team. Upon Anneliese mentioning her and Richard, then the various other selection of pairings based on current or forming relationships, Sam opened his mouth, "I...--" He quickly made a dismissive wave of his hand, shutting out the thought forming of switching out the various "partnerships", primarily as an attempt at getting Richard and/or Anneliese to work with the rest of the team... separately. Upon mentally seeing Richard's potential fury at having to work with say Pete, himself or heaven forbid Anneliese be paired with him... Sam just rubbed the downy soft "hair" on the back of his head and shrugged, "We could give it a trial run and see how it goes. Would you two be up for maybe 'teaching', seeing as you two have a vast amount of experience working to--... PETE! Uhm... It appears as though we are changing topics now." Sam then glared at Pete over his shades. He was starting to like the ruby red tint to them... reminded him of Cyclops from the X-Men. He made a mental note to check in with someone from the school after the team meeting was over. Back to the conversation starting to form. He took off his shades and looked at them all. "If you're going to choose someone to lead the team, I believe it should be someone we all think could handle the job well. I also think it might be best if we all just write out who we THINK that should be as opposed to VOICING IT.... no matter how OUT SPOKEN we may be, it is only fair. Yet I think Barda and Eva should be here too if we're to make this an official "team" vote. Speaking of those two, has anyone seen or heard from them lately?"

"Barda is here!" informed the six foot eleven, two hundred pound Barda Boltagon of New Genesis. Like both Annie & Anreal the New Goddess was barefoot, they moved rather silently across the floor as she made her way in. Adorned in what appeared to be a slightly armoured one piece of complete black she was just like her mother.
Miss. Boltagon blew a kiss to Annie as she entered but made her way over to Anreal, taking a stool beside her before crossing her legs and leaning back slightly onto the counter behind the stools with her elbows propping her up. "Voting for a new leader? Well that makes sense I suppose." a team leader was always handy, someone they could turn too to make the calls when it was needed, keep team unity in place.

If Evangeline was to be assigned to the part of any literary character in class or as a part of some twisted literature-based villain’s plot, it would have to be the role of the White Rabbit. Yes, the one from Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland. No, not because she was neurotic at every twist and turn, but because she was almost always late. And it was always the most important dates this would happen. No big deal though, unless it was a test or something of dire emergency, most of these things could wait on her. Yes, she was going to try and get out of the habit, but perhaps that could wait until she managed to get a job or something of that nature. And, of course, she could just teleport wherever she needed to go and poof everything into place if that was required.
Not to make the Young Titans’ meeting sound like something of lesser importance, but she had been in the middle of a summer opportunity at her university. The future of her career in heroics was at a high place in her priorities, but definitely not anywhere as lofty as an actual career in the actual world. There was no way she was going to be tracking wendigos for the remainder of her life. Actually, as far as Evangeline was aware, there hadn’t been much going on with the Titans. Maybe a few missions here and there, but nothing requiring major attention. Actually, at this point, Evangeline probably couldn’t even recall the roster or what new gadgets Sam had whipped up or what trouble Barda and Anreal had gotten into.
Ah, nostalgia.
Satisfied that her teleportation placed her right at the Young Titans’ Tower entrance, the young sorceress whistled to herself and stood before the bio-scanner mechanism thing. The familiar green beam started at Evangeline’s head and quickly did a sweep down to her toes. A moment passed and the doors to the Tower slid open. The female, computerized voice announced her registered codename, Xanadu, her member number, and even through in the observation that she had grown a little more than a fourth of an inch since she had last been in the Tower. Sweet! Heading over to the elevators, Eva was bio-scanned again and taken to the floor housing the meeting room within just a few moments.
The doors slid open and the nymph stepped from the moving machinery. Her eyes immediately travelled to the group of teens and young adults gathered. Wow. Everyone was present. No new additions just yet though. Waving a few times in some people’s directions, Evangeline examined the faces around the room. Judging by the expressions and other body language, there wasn’t much to judge actually. At the least, there wasn’t something terribly grim going on.
"Whatever it is, I would like to put myself forward as a candidate."
Perhaps that was a little uncalled for, but all she had known that there was a need for a vote of some sort. Even though she probably would have retracted her vie for the position being filled, there wasn’t any why she couldn’t put herself out there. Of course, half of the battle would be knowing what she had just volunteered herself for. Taking a seat on the arm of the couch and crossed her legs, the nymph glanced at Sam, who had taken on the leadership position in this instance, and waited to be instructed.

No sooner than he spoke Barda, followed by Eva walked into the meeting room. Sam lightly chuckled to himself, "Speak of the devils, and they doth appear.... Soo, about that vo--." Sam paused and looked back over at Eva as she entered volunteering herself for the position of team leader. At this Sam let loose a quiet breath of relief.
It wasn't that he didn't think he'd make a good team leader. It was that he was unsure if he would be able to lead this team of adolescents. He knew them all granted, even a couple of their strengths and weaknesses, but he had not had the experience of being with them for as long as say~ Barda. She had the strength, mental and tactical experience to make a great team leader, he didn't know much about her nurturing side.... if there was one... nor did he think the team would be all for training at a New God or Goddess' level. He knew he wouldn't be able to stand it... he'd watched her train from the security room recordings.
Eva on the other hand...... Well, she was Eva and she was late. She could find herself acting... or speaking at times before fully formulating a plan or getting all the information. Maybe he was over analyzing her, he had done that before, but at times it he'd found it was better to over analyze, than to be caught unawares or worse. He didn't think she'd make as fitting candidate as himself, so he was slightly assured in if he won the vote for team leader it would not be due to his being unopposed.
